Good point, Europeans should avoid ingredients of Extra-European origin whenever possible, while some foreign substances are less extreme in moderate consumption our biology/genetics – metabolism is tied to our regions of origin (climate and altitude). On that note, what kind of Protein powder do you typically use?

Laws regarding food and supplements are more relaxed in USA than where I live, trans fat, high fructose corn syrup, steroids etc. I dont know how big the problem really is, but you can still hear about people failing drug test in USA because of it. As far as I understand drug test are very strict and widely enforced here, compared to pretty much the rest of the world. So we are warned about it, for health and drug test reasons.

When I bought protein powder on internet, I always bought Bodylab`s whey protein. Its a danish company and danish made. A lot of protein is made here as a by-product in the dairy industry.
I usually bought 20 kilo bags (about 45 lbs) of non-taste powder or if they had a 12 kilo (about 26 lbs) sale, I would buy 12-24 kilo in 1 kilo bags with different taste.

The last time (the one I use now) I went to a shop here in Copenhagen, I bought 4,5 kilo (about 10lbs) cans from USA. WP8 from Starlabs. It is whey protein with some slower digesting casein protien.

Whey protein is the fastest working (maybe the cheapest) and most popular kind of protein.

It is properly best to avoid processed food in general, we should make our own food.
