Erkenbrand: Nationalism in the Netherlands – Boer Republic Podcast

On this episode of the Boer Republic Podcast we have an interesting discussion with Mr H, a representative of the Erkenbrand Studiegenootschap in the Netherlands.

The Erkenbrand Organisation describes themselves as a “meeting platform for kindred spirits who are critical of the demographic, spiritual, cultural and political developments in the Netherlands. We do not have a well-defined ideology, but what unites us is our love for our people and our land. We support the right to self-determination for all peoples of the world”.

We discuss cultural, linguistic and ethnic ties between South Africa, The Netherlands, and the rest of the Western World. We also discuss a few practical solutions for the current demographic crisis facing those of European descent, as well as the situation facing us as a people here in South Africa.

Why was the Wehrmacht so Combat Effective?

Why was the Wehrmacht so effective? Many contemporaries considered the Wehrmacht to be a very effective fighting force. Similarly, many historians consider it combat effective as well. What are the reasons for this perception and assessment? Was it training? Technology? Doctrine? Strategy? Operational Warfare? Prussian tradition? And also did this combat effectiveness at a price?

Five Boroughs of the Danelaw

Toponymy within the Southern Kingdom of Jorvik, showing the lasting legacy of Danish settlement

The influence of this period of Scandinavian settlement can still be seen in the North of England and the East Midlands, and is particularly evident in place-names: name endings such as -howe, -by (meaning “village”) or -thorp (“hamlet”) having Norse origins. There seems to be a remarkable number of Kirby/Kirkby names, some with remains of Anglo-Saxon building indicating both a Norse origin and early church building.  Scandinavian names blended with the English -ton give rise to typical hybrid place-names.

Old East Norse and Old English were still somewhat mutually comprehensible. The contact between these languages in the Danelaw caused the incorporation of many Norse words into the English language, including the word law itself, sky and window, and the third person pronouns they, them and their. Many Old Norse words still survive in the dialects of Northern England.

Four of the five boroughs became county towns—of the counties of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. However, Stamford failed to gain such status—perhaps because of the nearby autonomous territory of Rutland.

Genetic heritage

In 2000, the BBC commissioned a genetic survey of the British Isles by a team from University College London led by Professor David Goldstein for its programme ‘Blood of the Vikings‘. It concluded that Norse invaders settled sporadically throughout the British Isles with a particular concentration in certain areas, such as Orkney and Shetland.

In this finding, the Vikings refers to Norwegian Vikings only, as the study did not set out to genetically distinguish descendants of Danish Vikings from descendants of Anglo-Saxon settlers. That was decided on the basis that the latter two groups originated from areas that overlap each other on the continental North Sea coast (ranging from the Jutland Peninsula to Belgium) and were therefore deemed inconvenient or difficult to genetically distinguish. A further genetic study in 2015 found some evidence that, after the Vikings began settling, the communities had lived side by side and not intermingled for the first hundred years before going on to become a homogenous genetic group, it also found no evidence of the introduction of Viking genes during the earlier raiding period suggesting that the raiders did not participate in rape or at least no children were produced from such actions.

Valdemar II (9 May 1170 – 28 March 1241), called Valdemar the Victorious or Valdemar the Conqueror (Valdemar Sejr), was the King of Denmark from 1202 until his death in 1241. The nickname Sejr is a later invention and was not used during the King’s own lifetime. Sejr means victory in Danish.

About Germanic Languages

Scandza Forum to Meet in Copenhagen, Sept. 15

On September 15th, we will do our first event in Copenhagen, thereby completing our mission to be active in all three Scandinavian countries. In the summer of 2017, we made the Scandza Forum the first major white nationalist event in Norway, and with this upcoming conference, we are doing the same thing for Denmark.

As usual, we present a highly profiled line-up of speakers:

Jared Taylor is returning to the Forum after his popular speech that took place in Stockholm this April. Mr. Taylor is the grand old man of white advocacy and without a doubt the foremost debater for our cause. Fluent in Japanese and French, and educated at the prestigious Yale University, Jared has dedicated more than 25 years of his life to bringing reason, dignity, and eloquence to the issues surrounding race in society. You will find his work in his several books on his website, His latest book is If We Do Nothing (New Century Books, 2017). This will be Jared’s second appearance on the Scandza Forum stage, and his first ever appearance in Denmark.

Greg Johnson, PhD, former editor of The Occidental Quarterly and current editor of Counter-Currents/North American New Right, and author of numerous articles and books pertaining to the destiny of the West. His latest book is In Defence of Prejudice (San Francisco: Counter-Currents, 2017). Dr. Johnson is one of the leading ideologists of White Nationalism and the Alternative Right, and a first class speaker. Currently, Greg is working on the White Nationalist Manifesto.

Helmuth Nyborg, professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Aarhus. Among other things, professor Nyborg has done research on the genetic heredity of intelligence and behaviour and he has written on “collective fraud” regarding the nature/nurture debate in academia. One of his debate articles in Danish mainstream media, from 2016, is titled “Danishness – culture or biology?”. Professor Nyborg has previously spoken at AmRen and he recently appeared on an interview with Stephan Molyneux on the topic “Race, Genetics, and Intelligence”. This will be his first speech at the Scandza Forum.

Matt Tait. A nationalist since 2004, Mr. Tait was a BNP party official until leaving in 2010. He has previously spoken at two AmRen conferences and has made several appearances on Red Ice Radio. In 2015, he gave a well-received speech in Stockholm at an event sponsored by Logik Förlag.

Christoffer Dulny, founder of the Nordic Alt-Right and former budget director of the Sweden Democrats. Mr. Dulny has a degree in law studies and runs a startup in e-trade. This will be his first appearance on the Scandza Forum stage.

In other words, this will be an unforgettable event – so make sure to register now!

We care about your safety, so all invitations are based on recommendation to make sure that everyone who attends does so with honest intentions. If you want to attend, please send me an email at: for info on how to proceed with the registration. Remember to include your name (anonymous emails do not get a reply) and a reference to one person who can vouch for you.

If you have already registered, you can expect more information later this week.

Finally, allow me to thank our supporters and donors – you know who you are. It is with their help that the previous Scandza Forums, in Stockholm and Oslo, have been successful, and that we now are able to continue ever forward!

He attended (though did not graduate from) the University of Pennsylvania, worked as a fisherman, worked on Ted Kennedy‘s 1980 Presidential campaign, consulted on both Michael Dukakis‘s and Bill Clinton‘s Presidential campaigns, and wrote a novel before being hired to write screenplays for ((( Paramount Pictures  ))).

Big was his first produced screenplay. Co-written with ((( Anne Spielberg ))) (sister of Steven), it led to an ((( Academy Award ))) nomination and a ((( Writers Guild of America Award ))). He went on to write several other successful films, including Dave in 1993. In 1998, he wrote and directed Pleasantville, and in 2003, he wrote, directed and produced Seabiscuit, based on Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand. The film earned seven Academy Award nominations.

Ross took on the high-profile project of co-adapting and directing the film adaptation of the first book in Suzanne CollinsHunger Games trilogy. The film was released on March 23, 2012, and earned $672,826,249 worldwide as of June 2012. Although the movie was financially and critically successful, Ross opted to not adapt or direct the sequels, citing the rushed production schedule as his main reason.
