Three of his attackers were convicted of murder, with two being found guilty of manslaughter after they posed for pictures like their victim was a trophy.
David Herbert QC had previously told the trial: ‘Alberts Volkausks was lured to the address where he was essentially beaten to within an inch of his life in a sustained group attack.
‘He was tied up, he was gagged, he was urinated on and essentially left for dead while some of the defendants spoke of how they would dispose of his body.’
Mindaugas Cerneckas, 30, Donatos Dektiariovas, 37, and Andrius Barauskas, 39, all from Boston, were jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years after being found guilty of murder.
Pavel Grunt-Meyer, 30, of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment after being found guilty of manslaughter. Tawtvydas Vainolavicius, 20, of Boston, was sentenced to 12 years after also being found guilty of manslaughter.
