A 33-year-old man from Aarhus has been sentenced to imprisonment for a year and three months after trying to buy eight pistols over the Internet.
It is the Særlig Efterforskning Vest (special exploration west) that has investigated the case, which began in the autumn of 2018 when Slovak police sent their Danish colleagues a tip. The 33-year-old had offered to buy a gun from a Slovak citizen, so it was intercepted by the police.
The subsequent investigation showed that the 33-year-old Aarhusian had contact with two other people in Slovakia and the Czech Republic to whom he would buy pistols.
However, the purchases were unsuccessful, because in November the man was arrested and charged with attempted illegal possession of weapons under aggravating circumstances. This was, among other things, information from the 33 year old man phone and computer, which subsequently helped him to be convicted at the court in Aarhus (Denmark).
To my American readers, countries like Slovakia and the Czech Republic is our Mexico!
