A 40-year-old man, a Romanian national, was sentenced to a year’s unconditional imprisonment and expulsion with an entry ban for six years for two attempts at gross break-in in stores in Jutland (Denmark) on Tuesday at the court in Esbjerg.
Two attempts
The two attempts took place on 10 and 11. October 2018 in Toftlund and Agerbæk, respectively, where the 40-year-old man, together with three fellow men, had broken into the buildings via the roof.
In both cases, however, the experiment failed as the thieves were discovered and fled from the site.
The 40-year-old man was arrested in Romania in January 2019 on the basis of an international arrest warrant and was handed over to the Foreigners Control Department West (UKA Vest) at the South and Southern Jutland police on 7 July. October.
The 40-year-olds have acknowledged both conditions.
This is the fourth judgment in the case. A person was convicted in November 2018, while two people were convicted in July 2019. For all three judgments, there was one year of unconditional imprisonment and expulsion with an entry ban of six years.
Among the three other perpetrators, a person was arrested in the act of the intrusion attempt on 11 October and convicted at the court in Esbjerg, while the two remaining were arrested abroad, handed over and subsequently sentenced in Esbjerg.
