Hello, welcome to The AceDestroyer and welcome to the Hell in the Hürtgen series part II. In this part we will take a look at the 28th Infantry Division’s exploits on the 3rd of November 1944. The previous day, the 112th Infantry Regiment Captured Vossenack, the 109th Infantry Regiment had partially captured its objectives around Hürtgen and the 110th was hopelessly stuck at Simonskall. The previous day, the 112th Infantry Regiment had to give up Schmidt, the division’s main objective, but Kommerscheidt remained in their hands. The 109th Infantry Regiment was still hopelessly bogged down in front of Hürtgen and the same can be said about the 110th which was still stuck at Simonskall. Today, we will take a look at what happened next.

Today we will take a look at the endgame of the 28th Infantry Division in the Hürtgen Forest. We will go over the loss of Kommerscheidt, the recapture of Vossenack and the withdrawal across the valley. We will end by taking a look at the losses on both sides. I hope you enjoyed the series!
