Oh I know full well what happened to these birds, they were nearly eaten to extinction by the Maori I remember watching a piece about this with my father as a boy. The Kakapo sadly share the same evolutionary disadvantages as the poor Dodo, the lack of evolutionary pressure (natural competition) made them very inflexible when facing hostile alien threats.
Man (Germanic Europeans) are adaptable however, unlike the Kakapo or Dodo bird, it is the plague of Liberalism which ebbs away at our resiliency and natural craftiness making us weak and unable to thwart new incoming threats.
Parrots have an incredibly high intelligence level, excellent memory & emotional awareness not unlike Corvids or Owls.
Dodo’s weren’t stupid birds either despite how they’ve been portrayed, it is this quality of inquisitiveness & brazen lack of fear which lead to their extinction, also for the fact that they were flightless with stubby legs and only laid one egg.

I think, that the bird is known for high IQ too.
I agree. I believe, that we can still change and do what needs to be done.

Yeah, I have heard that. Sailors just walked up to them and grabed them or killed them. Very sad.
