It soon emerged after police had exchanged some words with him that the driver did not have clean conscience.
He was charged with falsifying a record sheet, making a false statement to the police by making a false holiday declaration and attempting to do so by possessing several holiday declarations, and tampering with data from the tachograph by destroying record sheets.
He was sentenced to 40 days of unconditional imprisonment, a fine of DKK 84,000, unconditional disqualification of driving in Denmark for the heavy vehicles for 6 months and expulsion with an entry ban for 6 years.
