At 01:30, 16 of June, 2020, an ATM at Nordea in the Ålsgårdecenter was blown to pieces and the monitor and panel from the vending machine were removed. After a brief but intense investigation, North Sealand Police later in the day were able to arrest and charge four Romanian nationals. On Wednesday morning, all four, two men aged 42 and one, a 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were presented in a preliminary hearing at the Court of Elsinore.
In addition to the blast of the ATM in Ålsgårde, the alleged perpetrators are being questioned by several police authorities also in connection with blasts in other European countries, including Germany and Switzerland.
