OL – Skeet Shooting: Denmark’s first medal came when Jesper Hansen won silver.

Jesper Hansen viser stolt sin sølvmedalje frem efter mandagens finale i skeetskydning.

After a poor first day of qualifying, Hansen shot flawlessly in Monday’s last 50 qualifying shots. It triggered the re-shooting, and he got squeezed into the Olympics final on the outer mandate. Hansen was forced to hit more clay pigeons than at least one competitor in each final round, with a shooter sorted from after each round, and if Hansen were equal with one or more others at the bottom, Hansen would be thrown out because of the position in qualifying. But he fought his way all the way to the final round, where he could not stand up to American Vincent Hancock, who won gold. Abdullah al-Rashidi of Kuwait took bronze.
