
On Monday, a 25-year-old Somali man was sentenced to four years in prison and deportation for life in a case involving the smuggling of a large quantity of hard drugs at a court in Sønderborg.
The incident took place on 7 May 2020, when the 25-year-old man was driven in a Norwegian registered passenger car at Frøslev Border Crossing and was taken out for control by the Special Police and Customs Unit. The unit is a collaboration between the Customs service and the Immigration Control Department Vest (UKA Vest) at the South Jutland Police.
During the check, the vehicle was examined by customs officers with a drug dog, and on this occasion they found four kilograms of amphetamine hidden in the car.
